Welcome to Myserk.com
Myserk is a new ensemble comprised of four innovative instrumentalists steeped in traditional music. Featuring members of the accomplished Irish group Cé (Asher Gray, Devin McCabe and Randy Gosa) and veteran flute player Brett Lipshutz, this quartet draws from diverse musical cultures to create highly textured arrangements of traditional and modern tunes on flutes, fiddle, concertina and guitar. Myserk balances an interest in the unconventional with a deep respect for the time-honored forms on which their music is based.

Myserk teaching at Grand Canyon Celtic Arts Academy
The members of Myserk will again be instructors at the Grand Canyon Celtic Arts Academy this July 13-15. We had a great time in Flagstaff at this workshop last year and are excited to be back.
We've prepared some tunes we plan on working on during class for our students to learn and recorded them on fiddle, flute, and whistle:

Ward Irish Music Archives host Double-Debut: Myserk & 100-year-old recordings
On Saturday, February 13, the Ward Irish Music Archives (WIMA) will sponsor a concert featuring two musical debuts: Milwaukee's newest band Myserk and Irish musical recordings from over 100 years ago. Joining us for the evening will be Chicago musical legends Sean Cleland & Jimmy Keane. The concert will be held at the Milwaukee Irish Fest Center at 1532 Wauwatosa Ave. Doors open at 7:00 and concert is at 7:30. $12 general seating.
The Dunn Family Collection at WIMA contains 32 rare and previously unpublished cylinder recordings from the great musicians of the early 20th century. These recordings were made by Francis O'Neill who is known as one of the great collectors of Irish music. The 32 recordings were produced in Chicago sometime before 1904, making them some of the earliest known recordings of Irish music. Great players such as Patrick Touhey, John McFadden and Sgt. James Early are included. In addition to the presentation of these rare tunes, this event will also feature modern interpretations by Myserk.
We are very excited to be a part of this historic event. Visit the Irish Fest website to get all the details.
